In shaping the energy efficiency of the new generation of green[r]evolution HUF houses, we chose to take a revolutionary approach. Protecting our environment and climate cannot wait! The greatest challenge was to achieve minimum energy consumption despite generous glazed areas. Our HUF engineers have succeeded - with a powerful combination of determination and creativity. At the same time, they have set new standards in timber-frame construction demonstrating that the centuries-old proven method of building with wood has a bright future when adapted intelligently to address new challenges.

The revolutionary innovation in timber-frame construction of the HUF HAUS is the use of highly efficient thermal insulation with the wooden structural components. This unique "structural insulation" is prefabricated with great care and effort at the HUF factory. This reduces any "thermal leakage", weak points in the thermal outer shell, to an absolute minimum.
