Since then, HUF HAUS has been continually refining its house design and at this year’s Grand Designs Live event in May, unveiled their latest, sensational generation of houses - the green[r]evolution.
The green[r]evolution design achieves groundbreaking, low levels of energy consumption. The first HUF HAUS green[r]evolution build in the UK received a ‘Code 6’ rating for both energy efficiency and environmental impact – the highest possible standard achievable and an amazing achievement that HUF HAUS is extremely proud of.

This record breaking energy efficiency is the result of truly unique engineering innovations from the company; fitting the timber elements of the houses with a highly efficient layer of heat insulation, increasing the thickness and insulation of the exterior walls and triple glazing the glass panels. As part of the launch of the green[r]evolution, HUF HAUS has also unveiled a new HUF HAUS micro-sculpture by the artist Willard Wigan MBE, crafted out of a speck of gold. |

Wigan is famous for creating intricate micro-sculptures and this latest design of a traditional HUF HAUS, propped on the head of a pin measuring a mere 0.5mm across, is no exception. |

Taking six weeks to complete, Wigan’s sculpture is made from 24 carat gold, crushed glass particles for the windows, cotton fibre flecks for the greenery and nylon for the roof. |

Wigan comments: “HUF HAUS architecture has a very distinctive and sophisticated design that is a pleasure to work with. I enjoyed the challenge of transferring the sleek lines of their houses into a different medium as depicted in my piece”. |
