Not all signs of HUF HAUS quality can be spotted at first sight. Many only show their effect after years. Nevertheless, a HUF House warrants close scrutiny because quality is especially apparent in the details. Here are a few of the many signs of quality in a HUF House:

• Each HUF House is built using only carefully selected, quality-assured completely organic  raw materials – no tropical timber is used.

• Carefully dried thin laminates of Nordic spruce are glued together to create clean looking, high load bearing, geometrically stable beams.

• The newly constructed walls consist of several layers carefully integrated according to their specific properties.

• Seeking to keep everything airtight provides for maximum heat insulation and long life.

• The precision-made interior and exterior plaster layers of the wall panels provide maintenance-free seals.

• The solid timber used in the outer walls comprises three wooden layers laid crosswise and glued together flat in a symmetrical configuration to give high load-bearing capacity and geometric stability.

• HUF HAUS has many years experience of building with timber. This helps us keep the chemicals used to preserve wood well below legally permitted levels. Indoors only a decorative water-based wood stain, free from biocides, is used.

• Extensive use of CNC machines guarantees that all structural components are manufactured precisely according to the specified dimensions. HUF is a member of the most important timber-frame construction quality assurance and research associations.
