Platinum and Gold for HUF HAUS
Every Huf House that leaves the factory in Germany will be credited with a Gold certification; however, a Platinum certification can be sought on a case by case basis through further application to, and assessment by, the DGNB.
Each HUF house construction achieves the efficiency grading of ‘House 55’
HUF HAUS have continually developed energy efficiency in our homes. One of the milestones of this development is the green[r]evolution design which has quickly become the pioneer for innovative and energy-efficient timbered architecture.
Each HUF house construction achieves the efficiency grading of ‘House 55’ (KFW-classification) and the ‘green [r]evolution’ house is equipped with all the necessary energy efficiency features at no additional cost. A HUF house can be built as a plus energy house at your request.
We protect what we love
As a pioneer in the field of wood protection HUF HAUS have undergone a strict audit for you as the first company in the industry of prefabricated houses: We are proud to present the result of the detailed report, analysed by the expert Dipl.-Ing. Borimir Radovic, Academic Director i. R.

Platinum certification for HUF HAUS
As recipients of a Platinum certification from the German Sustainable Building Council for its UK show house – Riverview in Weybridge, Surrey, HUF HAUS has received the highest possible recognition for its commitment to designing and building eco-conscious homes.
Gold for Sustainability
HUF HAUS Sets a New Standard in Sustainable Construction for the UK. HUF HAUS, the pioneer of bespoke, pre-manufactured homes, has set a new benchmark in sustainable construction, with a brand new accreditation from the German Sustainable Building Council or DGNB – the first award of its kind to be granted in the UK. The greatest challenge was to achieve minimum energy consumption despite generous glazed areas. Our HUF engineers have succeeded - with a powerful combination of determination and creativity. At the same time, they have set new standards in timber-frame construction demonstrating that the centuries-old proven method of building with wood has a bright future when adapted intelligently to address new challenges.
The revolutionary innovation in timber-frame construction of the HUF HAUS is the use of highly efficient thermal insulation with the wooden structural components. This unique insulation is prefabricated with great care and effort at the HUF factory. This reduces any "thermal leakage", weak points in the thermal outer shell, to an absolute minimum.
How we've done it
Stuctural Thermal insulation
The revolutionary HUF HAUS innovation for timber-frame buildings is that all wooden structural elements use a highly efficient thermal insulation layer. This unique insulation is prefabricated with great care and effort in the HUF HAUS plant. "Thermal leakage", weak points in the thermal outer shell, is thus reduced to an absolute minimum. The energy efficiency thus realised obviates the need for mineral wool.
Adaptable to any climate region
As part of HUF HAUS' green[r]evolution innovation, the already well-insulated walls have been designed to maximise energy efficiency. As well as increasing the wall thickness, adjustable according to the climatic region, the wall materials have been optimised to achieve maximum thermal insulation. The high-quality rendered external wall sections no longer require any joint seals.
