So Nice They Did It Twice

From one HUF to another - when HUF Homeowners take us with them.

Meet Brent and Rosemary, and their Second HUF HAUS home.
After 14 years in their original HUF HAUS home in Buckinghamshire, Brent and Rosemary decided to downsize to suit a new chapter in their lives - they needed to “rightsize”. Their new home is more than just a second build; it’s a refined expression of everything they loved about their first HUF house, adapted to suit their evolving lifestyle. With thoughtful design choices and a deep appreciation for comfort and aesthetics, they’ve created a space that feels both familiar and refreshingly new.

“We came across HUF HAUS in 1997, when we started dreaming about having a new home built - from that moment we decided it would only be a HUF House. We loved the clean, and in a way simple, aesthetic with total flexibility to match our requirements. The company’s traditional values and the fact it is family run, with over a century of experience, resonated with us – these factors combined with a highly skilled team of people, cemented our decision. No other property offers the same joyful living experience or could give us the same daily pleasure when we raise the blinds, no matter what time of year. It’s a very uplifting way to live”.

That HUF HAUS Feeling: A Home Shaped by Experience

For Brent and Rosemary, designing their second HUF HAUS was about more than building a beautiful home — it was about refining a lifestyle. Armed with the knowledge gained from their first HUF HAUS, the couple set out to create a space that would not only embrace its natural surroundings but also reflect how they truly live.
The result is a stunning home nestled into the landscape. In contrast to the crisp white facade of their previous build, this darker grey exterior blends organically with the surrounding environment, whilst making a striking architectural statement.

At the heart of the home, you find a spacious living space with breathtaking panoramic views over the valley. As the expansive windows bathe the interior in natural light, they draw the eye outward to the rolling scenery beyond - perfectly connecting the indoors with the outdoors.

A level terrace and interior floors blend to create a continuous, flowing living experience, and ideal space for entertaining or simply unwinding in nature.
Every space in the house has been thoughtfully customised. One of the four bedrooms serves as Rosemary’s textile studio but has been designed with hidden plumbing so that it can be easily become a guest suite with an en-suite bathroom should it be required in the future. This intentional design for flexibility is a hallmark of the couple’s approach to futureproofing their home.
And the feeling inside? That’s what they love most. The home is bright, peaceful, and perfectly tempered throughout the year, offering comfort no matter the season. Their favourite spot is the covered outdoor area — ideal for morning coffee, quiet reading, or even winter barbecues. “Creating your own home,” they say, “is one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life.”
The response from visitors and passersby is always the same: admiration. Wide smiles, spontaneous photos, and awe at the home's striking lines and serene atmosphere are common. For Brent and Rosemary, this second HUF HAUS isn’t just a house — it is the realisation of everything they have learned about how they want to live.
