For Bertrand and Elisenne building a new home began with a very different vision. Initially, they were drawn to a more traditional architectural style and spent time exploring what that might look like. However, as they investigated the potential pitfalls in conventional construction, unknown costs, and the prospect of having to do their own project management, they soon realised that they needed a far more controlled and guaranteed solution. 

This led them to HUF HAUS, and their visit to the UK show house in Weybridge became a crucial turning point. The moment they stepped inside, they immediately fell in love with the HUF HAUS atmosphere and architecture and fully embraced the advantages of the turn-key services HUF provide. As the project evolved, so did their ideas. What started as a concept gradually became the tailored home their family lives in today. Throughout the process, they were impressed by the precision, expertise and reliability they encountered, from the factory floor to the final creation. 

One of the most memorable moments came when the prefabricated components arrived from Germany and construction began on site. Within a single day, the outlines of the house had taken shape. Walking through the newly assembled ground floor for the first time transformed drawings and plans into something tangible. Suddenly, the spaces felt real, and the scale of the home became clear in a way that no blueprint could fully convey.

Now complete, the house offers a balance of openness and privacy, with generous shared spaces that naturally bring the family together. The open design combines with expansive glazing to allow uninterrupted views over the beautifully landscaped lawn, garden and social outdoor spaces. The strong connection to the surrounding nature invites calm into the home, whilst intelligent technology quietly supports everyday comfort in the background. Peace at last.
