A HUF house is built for generations – and designed to evolve. To ensure that each home continues to suit new life situations long after the initial move-in, the HUF department ServiceART offers tailor-made solutions for conversions, modernisation and technical upgrades. In 2025, the experienced eight-person team realised around 700 projects for clients across Europe – ranging from joinery work and energy-efficient renovations to sophisticated spatial concepts, as well as comprehensive extensions or redesigns. The result: individual, sustainable and technically precise solutions that highlight the timeless character of a HUF home.
Even after the warranty period has expired, ServiceART remains a reliable partner for HUF clients. The specialists of this Westerwald-based family company – which designs and builds around 80 exclusive post and beamd houses each year – guide projects from the initial idea and detailed planning all the way through to implementation. Thanks to the coordinated scheduling of all trades, the process stays smooth and stress-free for clients, while quality and design in the distinctive HUF style are consistently ensured.
Two current projects demonstrate just how versatile ServiceART truly is:
In the Taunus region (Germany), a HUF bungalow was expanded with a generous mezzanine on the ground floor. The additional living space of nearly 15 m² now serves as a bright, contemporary home office that can also be used as a guest room.

“Because of the wide pitched roof we had plenty of height – so the idea emerged to insert an additional level. The open gallery is not only a functional gain, it literally gives us new perspectives within the house. The Service ART team handled the statics, planning and execution in no time – everything worked out exactly as we had hoped. Projects with HUF are a promise of quality in every respect: thoughtfully planned, punctual and executed to perfection. Always a pleasure to bring new living ideas to life together,” says the homeowner, who has lived in the HUF Haus with his family since 2021.
Another major project involved a comprehensive modernisation of a 1998 HUF house, tailored to the needs of a family of five. The goal was to bring comfort, energy efficiency and technology up to the latest standards. To achieve this, Service ART installed environmentally friendly heat pumps, photovoltaic modules with 24 kWp output and upgraded the entire house to a KNX Smart Home system.
At the same time, targeted structural adaptations created new space: three children’s rooms, each with its own bathroom on the upper floor, and an enlarged utility room with a separate entrance – ideal for the family dog, Nanouk. A new lighting and furniture concept by StilART, a company of the HUF Group, stylishly rounded off the modernisation.
“A HUF house can still be individually adapted to new needs decades after it was first built. With ServiceART, we offer our clients the convenience of continuing to evolve their home – technically, energetically and aesthetically,” explains Dominik Schuy, Head of ServiceART.
Today, many homeowners place particular emphasis on summer heat protection, energy efficiency and maximising available space. Service ART develops tailor-made concepts that honour the architectural identity of a HUF house while creating new levels of living comfort.
This ensures that every HUF home remains a place that grows with its residents –open, bright and ready for the future.
