After 14 years in their original HUF HAUS home in Buckinghamshire, Brent and Rosemary decided to downsize to suit a new chapter in their lives - they needed to “rightsize”. Their new home is more than just a second build; it’s a refined expression of everything they loved about their first HUF house, adapted to suit their evolving lifestyle. That HUF HAUS Feeling

With the lessons from their first HUF HAUS in mind, Brent and Rosemary set out to create a home that embraced its natural surroundings. The result: a striking design with a panoramic living space offering breathtaking 180° views of the valley. The house was designed to blend seamlessly into the landscape, featuring a darker exterior that contrasts the white facade of their previous home.
The interior layout was customised to reflect how they truly live. One of the four bedrooms now serves as Rosemary’s textile studio – future-proofed with hidden plumbing in case it ever needs to become a guest room with en-suite. A seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living was essential, achieved by aligning the terrace level with the interior floors for a smooth, continuous flow.

What they love most about their home is the feeling it gives: bright, quiet, and perfectly tempered year-round. Their favourite spot? The covered outdoor area, where they enjoy coffee, reading, or even winter barbecues – whatever the weather. The couple reflects: “Creating your own home we think is one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life.”
